Camp Bestival – part one

It’s crazy to think that it’s a whole week since we arrived at Camp Bestival already! We left home in the middle of the night, thinking that the kiddos would sleep most of the drive. Well, holiday excitement proved to be to much to sleep! A 5am stop just outside of Bristol for a wee and coffee, we arrived in Dorset at 8am, stopping at a pub to grab some much needed breakfast {and more coffee!}

Thursday turned out to be sunny and ridiculously hot – a little too hot for carrying a weeks worth of camping gear across a campsite! Still, we got our tents set up, complete with bunting and fairy lights. The kiddos had fun running around exploring the campsite, making friends and testing out the compost loos.

The Soul Park was the first place we explored, the kiddos loved the hammocks and the buttfly’s flying in the sky. There was an opening ceremony there on Thursday evening, we only caught the first bit, we’d been awake for 17 hours by then and melt-downs were imminent.

Baya had been praying there was a ferris wheel ed-trio.com/buy-cialis-online there, and there was! She was so happy! The festival is set around Lulworth Castle – such a beautiful spot to spend a weekend. At night the castle was lit up in changing colours – looked so magical.

The Jaipur Brass Band was one of the first acts we caught, they were fabulous!

The Dingly Dell was one of our favourite spots in the festival, especially when the blazing sun got too hot and we needed the shade of the trees. We made fairy houses and spent a few hours playing in the mud kitchen they’d set up.

Friday nights highlight for us was watching Billy Bragg, the girls love ‘New England’ which he sung as his last song, it was such a great evening sitting in the open, listening to him singing, surrounded by so many other happy folk!

I still have a whole load more photos to share!! Looking through these makes we wish we were still there! We’re all unpacked and sorted, the last load of laundry is just finishing in the washer as I speak… ready for a trip to my sisters next week!
