washing outside{!} // new windchime // signs of spring

hello loves! i hope you have all had a great weekend, we were blessed with sunny skies and mild{ish} weather. it felt so good to be able to get outside and soak up some vitamin d :) by the end of february we always start to get a bit of cabin fever after spending so much time indoors over the winter. this weekend was a much needed chance to get outside!

saturday morning , miss lola had a history group, so the little two and i headed to the park for a couple of hours. i picked up a frappuccino and a paper on the way, the kiddos played and i chilled out – it’s been so long since it’s been warm enough to do that!

sunday, papa didn’t have to work till the evening, so we took the chance to get some garden work done. He built me a fence around my veg plot so that it is chicken proof [hopefully!} and also fenced off the top section of our garden {again to keep the chucks out} So far, it’s doing it’s job, though we have some confused looking chickens wondering why they can’t get through anymore! We’re also planning on laying a lawn as soon as it’s warm enough. We put woodchip down three years ago when we moved in as a quick fix that we never got around to fixing ha! so i’ve been raking it all up to get ready for sowing the grass seed – 12 wheelbarrows off so far… and i have a garden full of mud. Looking forward to a lush lawn though this summer…

after all that gardening i was exhausted! it’s amazing how good being outdoors makes me feel. fingers crossed that spring is here to stay!

what did you get up to this past weekend?

:) me too… chickens are good! slightly unimpressed that they can’t get in the top bit of our garden ;) next job is to build a temporary run for the baby chicks for when they can go outside!

I’m loving the sunshine at the moment too! Fingers crossed Spring is coming! I had a pretty chilled out weekend and sorted through my house for things to go on eBay. I now have piles of clothes that need a home. I had a mooch round some charity shops yesterday and i also got some supplies for a DIY Mother’s Day gift I’m doing :)
