An afternoon tea party

With four kids in the house, esp in this house which is teeny tiny and currently upside down while we pack up, tempers get very frayed. We all drive each other a little bit nuts some days…. sometimes all you need is a little something to change the dynamics, to make everyone smile and stop the arguments!

So, on one of those days last week, I set Kiki and Baya up in the kitchen, to bake us some cookies and cakes, and I made us a fun little afternoon tea party. We had cookies, cakes, heart shaped sandwiches, poppadoms, prawn crackers and grapes to eat.

Kiki really loves fruit teas and we got sent a few of these teas to test out. So far the ‘Three Little Pigs’ blend is our favourite. I kinda love the gorgeous tins they come in, and Kiki really loved the pyramid bags!! They’re great decaf teas for kiddos to enjoy {and their Mama’s too!}. My girls loved having tea with their lunch – just like a grown up tea party.

We had a great afternoon, sampling teas and eating cake… I’m thinking this should be a weekly thing! Kiki wanted to share her cake recipe with you, so here it is:

Kiki’s Chocolate Cakes

I N G R E D I E N T S

6oz butter
6oz sugar
4oz plain flour
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp milk

D I R E C T I O N S
Cream butter and sugar together, then add in the eggs one at a time
Stir in vanilla extract and then lightly fold in the flour and cocoa powder. Bake at 180C for around 12 minutes.

Leave to cool and then decorate as you like!

I hope the packing is going ok! I love random tea parties and the tea packaging looks amazing! Looks like a lovely distracting afternoon. x
