Hey
1. Blog Design – Let me first say content is what holds your readers, good content = loyal followers. But your blog design is what sucks them in. I do follow blogs that don’t have great blog designs – but not everyone will do that. Want proof – I started a blog called Embrace Your Life – I did the blog design, it was not great but the content is {it’s a group of woman embracing life} and Digger did a blog design for us and we have already got 3 new followers, probably because the blog doesn’t hurt their eyes as soon as they land on it. ;) There are tons of wonderful blog designers and I do mean wonderful, that do great work. :) Here are two of my favorite ladies – here & here.
2. Connect – Connecting with other bloggers is so important. They aren’t going to know your blog exists if you don’t take the time to connect with other bloggers. Comment, comment, comment! Tweet, e-mail – the blogging community is truly wonderful and I have met so many amazing woman by doing this!
3. Be nice. – You think I’m kidding. Remember that saying If you don’t have anything nice to say – don’t say anything at all. Well it applies while blogging too. If you can’t be nice don’t say anything. There have been times I have not commented on a blog because what I would say wouldn’t be something nice. You have to remember that it is their blog and they are allowed to write whatever they like on it.
4. Be you. – I can’t stress this enough. Being yourself is the best thing you can do. I love coming across a blog that I really connect with the blogger because you can tell she is 100% being true to who she is.
5. Have fun. – Most importantly, have fun! Remember this is blogging. This is a place for us all to share whatever it is we like to share. Don’t let it become a job, have fun with it. Meet others and live it up! :))
Thanks again Polly!
