An unplugged Bank Holiday weekend camping trip
The
I bought THIS tent a few weeks ago, the last couple of years we’ve been taking a couple of small-ish 6 man tents that really needed upgrading. I wanted one tent that was big enough for all of us and gave us a decent amount of living space {hello rainy Britain!}. I’d hoped to have a test run at putting this up in my garden before we took it away, but it turned out to be too big! As it turned out, it was pretty easy and quick to put up and I’m so impressed with the space inside. With up to four separate sleeping areas {two pods on one side, one big one that has a central divider on the otehr} and a huge central living space PLUS it’s tall enough to stand up in, it was perfect for the five of us.
Saturday and Monday were a little rainy, but Sunday was a gorgeous sunny day. It was lovely to catch up with friends we haven’t seen in ages, and make some new ones. The kiddos had a blast playing with all the other kids there, and running around the fields. With no signal unless I was in the house, it was so good to be unplugged for the weekend. Totally switched off and away from all the noise. Though I’ve struggled to get back into life online this week, I’m feeling like I could pack everything up and go live in a yurt right now. Totally serious.
I didn’t take a tonne of photos, as I decided to just put my phone down and relax all weekend. I managed to sneak in some reading time, and practiced a little yoga in the field to the sound of the sheep bleating haha! Here are a few snapshots from our weekend away – we’re already planning the next camping trip. We had a great time, though the trip did have me daydreaming about the possibility of getting a new car as we were all packed in tight
