Three Easy Easter Crafts for Toddlers

Processed with VSCO

With Easter less than a month away, and the shops overflowing with chocolate and treats, I’ve started thinking about a few fun Easter Crafts. Having a toddler again is lovely – activities that the girls did when they were little can be repeated, and they’re often happy to join in and help out. While the girls now make whatever they like, whenever they want to, I love coming up with a few simple ideas the Beastie can do – he really loves crafting and painting, and always wants to join in on anything the girls are doing, so it’s nice to have some activities tailored for him.

We spent a fun-filled morning, in a glitter covered kitchen making these quick and easy crafts!

Glittery Egg Table Centre Piece

I love simple, homemade additions to our seasonal table. We had these cute glittery mini eggs, and decided to make some larger ones and create a cute center piece for our dinner table. Beastie needed a little help, but he had fun – though this isn’t one for anyone who has an aversion to glitter!

* Push a wooden skewer into the base of your egg {make sure the pointy end is in the egg, so your toddler doesn’t poke themselves}

* Cover the egg in glue, use your fingers to make sure every little bit is covered.

* Give your toddler a bowl of glitter, and let them make a mess cover the egg in glitter. Beastie LOVED doing this!

* Push toothpicks into the mini glittery eggs.

* We used an old jamjar, filled it with some pretty tissue paper, and wrapped some ribbon around the outside

* Push the eggs on sticks into the tissue paper, and pop in the middle of the table!

Chick Easter Card

My littles love to make a few easter cards to send out to their grandparents, and I love how cute these chick cards turned out! We used pre-made cards, cut to shape, but you could easily just use a piece of card.

* Draw your shape on the card, making sure that part of it sits over the fold in the card so it doesn’t fall to pieces!

* Cut out, and let your child decorate!

* Voila! Easy as pie.

Easter Suncatchers

Suncatchers are one of my favourite things to make – I love making flower suncatchers, but these easter inspired ones look just as pretty, decorating a window on a sunny day.

* Draw a shape on card – we did an egg shape, then cut out, and cut the middle out as well, leaving a frame.

* Cut a piece of sticky back plastic a little bigger than your shape, and lay sticky side up on the table.

* Pop your frame in the middle, and give your toddler a pile of tissue paper pieces, and let them stick away.

* Once they’re finished, put another piece of sticky back plastic over the top {sticky side down} and trim off the excess.

* Stick up at your window with a little tape or blue tack.
