A scandi wishlist for the home

scandi home wishlist

I’ve long admired the  clean, calm, pared-backness of Scandi interior styles. Grey and white walls, wooden furniture and geometric, monochrome prints. Since moving home last year, I’ve been keeping a running wishlist of things I’d like to buy for our home. These aren’t all things I’ll actually end up buying, but keeping a list means I’m less inclined to make impulse buys when I have a little extra cash to treat myself, and actually am more inclined to save up for pieces that I will truly love.

Right now, we’re planning a makeover of our den. It’s not a room we use very much {currently it’s the kittens play zone!}, but it’s our guest room and G’s hideaway hole. Currently, it’s full of boxes of junk housed in an ancient wardrobe. It’s not an appealing spot for visitors, so I’m thinking of switching out the furniture for either a credenza {great to hide all the mess away in}, or some open shelving.

I love this rug – I think it would be great in our playroom, I’ve been after a large round rug to detract from the carpet in there, and this would brighten the room up nicely. I’ve also my eye on this gorgeous lamp for our living room – and this coffee table to replace my ancient ottoman we’re currently using as a table.

I think Scandi style looks fantastic in the kitchen, and a few small updates can make a big difference. I kind of wish we had open shelving so that I could show off some of these gorgeous items – I’m coveting this jug, this beautiful teapot, and this simple breadbin. I think that this vase would look perfect full of flowers, sat in the middle of my dining table.

Oh gosh, I love far too much of this! It’s all very my style, my house is covered in white walls and teak furniture. The open shelving and the coffee table are my favourites!
