Friday Feels

beastie boy (1)

This week has felt like a long one. It’s not been easy getting back to ‘normal’ after our week away last week! I was fully in summer mode, ready to down all work/commitments and spend the summer lazing in the garden or on the beach. If only. Throw in too many grey, wet days and not enough sleep and I think you get the picture. Some weeks I can power through the lack of sleep, and then other weeks it all catches up with me. I find myself tired and naggy, doubting myself and every move that I make. So I’m mighty glad it’s the weekend, though in this Mama’s world that doesn’t really make much difference. Weekdays/weekends often blend into one and the same, though I’ve been making an effort lately to work less on the weekend and make Saturdays and Sundays more about family time, and fun things.

Anyhoos…. here are some good/fun/lovely things from this week:

* Beastie has decided it’s super fun to put things in his ear… daisy’s are okay, Hama beads not so good!!!

* I treated myself to some new make-up, concealer {a Mama essential}, a new blusher and a fab new eye-shadow pallette… combatting tired, frumpy feeling Mama.

* I keep meaning to start making some overnight oats again – these peanut butter and banana recipe sounds uh-mazing!

* I’m thinking about buying these chairs for our dining room. Our current chairs are ancient, falling to bits, and frankly, not the nicest!!

* This ‘Healthy Speedy Suppers’ book has some great recipes – perfect for those rushed evenings when the kiddos all have twenty places to be and I need something quick and easy to make.

* I’m planning a few mini-room makeovers and have been looking for some new house plants – found some great buys here

* Loved this post from Not Another Mummy Blog on chivalry

What do you have planned for the weekend?

The cook book sounds great, speedy suppers are the way forward in our house as by the end of the day I can never be bothered to cook! x

I know what you mean about the grey clouds and lack of sleep – have totally been feeling that too. So funny your little man wants to put things in his ears – although like you said beads is not a good thing! That cook book looks amazing btw and I love those chairs!
