Happy #7

Fri-YAY!! It’s always a good thing when the weekends just around the corner, right?! Those these weeks seem to be flying by far too quickly. It’s been a less rainy, more sunshiny kinda week here, add that to a few bulbs starting to pop through in my garden and I can feel a hint of spring in the air. I’m SO excited about the prospect of warmer days and lighter evenings. Here’s what has made me happy this week:

*Time to myself – I blogged about it here, but having a couple of hours to myself is such a luxury. I don’t even mind when that alone time is spent working! It’s such a treat to have a quiet house, a hot coffee and my laptop without someone needing me every two minutes!

*Fresh flowers – I’ve been making sure to keep some pretty blooms on the mantelpiece in my living room – it’s a sure-fire way to make me smile when I first walk in the room in a morning!

* Daytime baths – by the time  I get the kiddos settled at night, I can never muster the energy to have a bath. So I’ve taken to sneaking off for a soak mid-afternoon. Leaving Papa in charge of the kiddos, a twenty-minute soak in a bubble bath in the middle of the day recharges my batteries and feels oh so indulgent {as is a great excuse to get back in my PJ’s!!}

* Coffee & a magazine – it’s not often I take time out to relax and read a magazine. I usually feel guilty about not doing something… but treated myself to the latest copy of The Simple Things Magazine and a Starbucks and I enjoyed half an hour of relaxing time.

* Friends – ever so grateful for friends who take my kiddos out to soft play for the afternoon so I can work {and then come for a cuppa and a natter too!}

What has made you happy this week?

    Sounds lovely. I’ve enjoyed a night out at the theatre (a rare treat) and a midweek visit from a relative, an opportunity to cook a more special meal. It’s been a good one x

    Oh I’ve been so happy to see flowers poking through the grass… spring is on its way!! I was a bit worried about them yesterday though as we had such a heavy frost, I almost went out there with my hairdryer to make sure they were warm enough ;)
