Creating a ‘funky’ room for a big boy!

While Vega is definitely still my baby, I’m aware that his birthday is looming and he’s on the verge of walking – soon he’ll class as a toddler rather than a baby. Gah!

I’m starting to think about a few small changes to his nursery to take it into a room that will grow with him. Seeing as it’s National Wallpaper Week, I started looking at different wallpapers we might like, and I came across this amazing star print wallpaper from Graham & Brown and knew that it would be perfect to create a feature wall in his room. It’s quite exciting to have a room to design for a boy for a change [esp for his Papa who is planning on ALL the Star Wars toys!]

I like bright, bold and funky designs {see his fab cot we picked out} and love that this will work for a baby, toddler and bigger kiddo.

I’m planning on adding some honeycomb shelves {to display those said Star Wars toys, natch!}, a little bookshelf to go with the mini-IKEA chair we got for him the other week, a new lamp and rug and some storage baskets he can fill with toys!

I’m excited for the paper to arrive and impatient to get it on the wall – though I’ve never actually wallpapered before, so it could be um, interesting!

Do you have any wallpapering tips to share with this first timer??!

I absolutely adore this wallpaper. I think it’s one of my all time favourites. That collection from Graham & Brown is just magical. It’s also a wonderful choice for a kids bedroom! My daughter has only been sleeping in her own room for about 7 months and I’m already thinking about redecorating the woodland themed room she has now. Good luck with the project! My husband and I recently wallapered using a Graham & Brown paste-the-wall paper and we were really apprehensive too. But we watched some Youtube videos for tips and it was so much much easier than we were expecting! Hope you find the same!
