This Homeschooling Life #2

this homeschooling life linky

It was really fun seeing all of the posts that you linked up last time! I have to admit, I don’t have many photos of ‘homeschool-y’ things that we’ve done this month. This month has been a case of grabbing any little spots of time we can to fit in some work/activities as the baby really wants whatever anyone has and that makes doing things tricky! He’s not been sleeping so great either, so I’ve been tired and lacking in much motivation!

This month all of the girls extra curricular groups started back up after the summer break, so we’ve been getting used to having to be out every evening at a certain time. With Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Gymnastics, Art to name a few it gets pretty hectic.

We’ve spent the past few weeks working out ‘work routines’ for the coming couple of months, figuring out what the girls want to focus on. For us, winter is always a time when we stay home more and tackle projects after spending the summer enjoying the {hoepfully} nicer weather.

That said, the girls are always making things – them being big enough to just get the craft stuff out and make things with out me is great! There has been shrinky dinks made, cakes baked, pictures painted and jewellery boxes decorated. They’ve helped me collect and make elderberry syrup, and we’ve been leaf collecting for some autumn crafts we have in mind.

We’ve ridden on Penny Fathings and helped put some blocks on the Lego model of Chester Cathedral that is being made. There have been games played, stories read, home ed groups attended and lots of play with friends. Even when I think we’ve done *nothing* if I look, there has actually been so many things done I wonder how we fit them all in!

Looking forward to reading all your posts again this month!

I always find that too, it feels like we haven’t done much but when you write it all down it actually seems like loads! And I love it when they are old enough to do some crafting on their own, Cherry has just started asking to get things down then doing it all without wanting me to give her ideas which is great as it means if I’m not feeling particularly inspired she can still create x

Its lovely seeing what everyone gets up too, I wish we could do more group activities but chloe finds them a little overwhelming, your children look very happy and that is what matters most xxx

Sounds like a good month and I love all the pics. We’ve been collecting leaves too! I hope we do actually use them!
