How did you announce your baby bump?

Announcing an impending arrival in fun and creative ways is becoming more and more popular. When we had our first three children, we didn’t have the internet at home, let alone smart phones so there was no big announcement on Social Media, we simply told family and friends, showing off our first scan picture.

This last time around, it was nice to be able to announce it to the world via this blog and my social media channels. We opted for a simple announcement – just sharing his first portrait, and a second announcement when we found out the gender!

it’s a boy

My favourite thing with this last pregnancy was being able to document it all on my blog {you can see all posts here}. It’s amazing being able to look back and watch my bump grow each week!

I loved announcing the pregnancy to the world, it made it seem ‘official’ somehow and meant I could stop hiding my growing bump and start going shopping for cute newborn clothes! M&S have just launched a dedicated baby section on their website, split into seven key moments – Welcome, Clothe, Bathe, Sleep, Feed, Play and Maternity. I love M&S clothes for Vega, they have some great basic pieces as well as some fantastic prints – I picked up a few t-shirts recently for him to wear this summer!

Did you announce your pregnancy in a fun way? I’d love to see a picture if you did.

If you’re looking for ideas, there are some fantastic ones on Pinterest. Almost makes me want to have another baby …..!!

Such an interesting post. Do you know, I never really made an announcement in real life or online! I went round to tell family and then the rumours spread from there! ;-) x

We didn’t really do the whole pregnancy announcement on social media, but if I had another I’d probably just do a simple picture announcement!

Some people are so creative these days, mine was really boring I think! Just a blog post with Tiger and a FB status with Cherry as I wasn’t blogging at the time! It’s so nice to have a record of my pregnancy second time round though x

I love the M&S baby range, it’s so beautiful and classic! We shared ours in the same way and I have to say it was so nice to document my pregnancy and those early days with him. x
