Vega – 3 week update

vega 3 weeks old

These weeks are flying by! Vega is doing great, he was weighed last Thursday and had put another 10oz on this past week – he weighed in at 10lb 12oz! I packed away all his newborn stuff as it was too small to start with, and I think another week and his 0-3 months clothes will be too small too. This boy isn’t so tiny! He’s long as well, just like Kiki was.

He’s so much more alert now when he’s awake in the daytime, and he’s pretty strong – he can hold his head up pretty well. He’s in the middle of *another* growth spurt – yesterday he pretty much nursed all day long. This boy sure can eat! His sleep patterns seem to be settling into some kind of routine for now… he nurses lots all day, then just 3 times or so at night which is not so bad.

Kiki is still my biggest helper this week – she’s great at comforting him if he’s crying and watching him while I’m making dinner or sorting someone else out – I’d be lost without her around! Papa has been giving him a bottle of milk in the middle of the night this past week, meaning I can skip one night feed and catch a few extra zzzzzz’s… as much as I love nursing, and really don’t mind the night feeds, it is nice to have a little help on one of them!

Oh my, what a scrumdiddlyumptious boy he is! I never bought newborn clothes and put mine straight into slightly baggy 0-3 mths onesies – trying to be economical! Love his name :)

Sounds like it’s all running pretty smoothly! It must be amazing to have the help of your children around, and so sweet to see them being so helpful!

so lovely that Kiki wants to be so involved. It must be such a help when there are siblings around to chip in and amuse a newborn. Wilf was the same with size! He was never in newborns and was out of 0-3 at around a month, these guzzly boys hey? What a cuttie!! x

He is so cute! I can’t imagine what it must be like to have an older child big enough to hold the baby. Sounds lush!
