Make it: Nursery Mobile DIY

nursery mobile IDY

I wanted a mobile to hang in Beastie’s nursery, but something a little different… not cutesy, or particularly ‘babyish’ if that makes any sense. Inspired by dream catcher’s, whimsy and with a dash of boho, I put together this easy mobile last week. You can adapt the colours to suit, and I think it would look fab anywhere in the house not just in a nursery.

DIY ribbon nursery mobile

SUPPLIES NEEDED:
* Ribbon in a variety of widths/textures. I used around 15m in total
* Wire hangers {I bought these on eBay}
* Feathers
* Leather

HOW TO MAKE:

1// Fix two hangers together, I twisted one hook around so that they both sat flush together, then used hot glue and ribbon to join them together – by the hooks and also on the bottom of the hangers where they overlap.

2// Cut your ribbon into varying lengths, then loop/tie them onto the bottom of the hangers. Mix the colours up as you go around the hangers, until it’s as full as you like.

3// Cut feather shapes out of leather {I drew a template freehand, but you can find printable ones if you google it}. Punch a hole at the top of each feather, thread ribbon through and tie/loop onto the hangers.

4// Tie some feathers together {I also used some hot glue to make sure they were really secure} then tie to the top of the hangers.

5// Hang and enjoy!
