Maternity Series – Week 30

maternity series week 30

I can’t believe I’m at the thirty week mark already! Although, truth be told, the next few weeks can’t go fast enough. This last week has been the worst one I’ve had this pregnancy. I’ve woken up most nights with a really bad back, and ended up having to sleep on the sofa for a few hours, a zillion cushions around me and a hot water bottle pressed into my back to relieve the pain. Not what this pregnant Mama needs.

Lack of sleep has meant that I’ve not really had much energy for tackling my never-ending to-do list, I’ve barely kept on top of work this past week. Last night was a little better, I managed to make myself go to bed at 10pm, woke once for a wee and moved to the sofa at 6am for a couple more hours, so I feel fairly refreshed today.

dear baby week thirty

Other than the back ache/sleep issue everything else is going smoothly. I managed to clear out a little more of the nursery yesterday, ready for the finishing touches this week hopefully. His clothes are sorted into his drawers, the cloth nappies are waiting, there are just a couple of bits left I need to get. I have to go back to the midwife this week for repeat bloods, as the ones taken at 28 weeks got mislabelled and were no use :/

Sorry you’re in such pain at night! It’s not easy carrying these babies! You are looking so, so stunning. Blooming is really the word. I love your maternity top too.

A cucumber? What a bizarre (yet interesting!) thought that a baby could ever be that size. In my mind they’re either super tiny, or birth-size! :D

My wore nightmare having repeat bloods. The last few weeks will fly by I’m sure – and then you will have even less sleep!

Gosh, it seems to be flying by – tho I remember all to well that the last ten weeks seem by far the longest – partly as its like waiting for Christmas, and partly because it is the uncomfortable bit!

I completely feel your pain. It was at this stage that I used to get bad hip pain and leg cramps. I used to get up really early because I couldn’t sleep any longer and crash about downstairs with pots and pans trying to tidy up the kitchen (grumpily). Hope it eases soon xx

Love the way you’re calling him beastie – it’s what I call my husband! I had SPD and it’s the utter pits, in the later stages, not being able to sleep. Be nice to yourself during the day x
