Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest
A
The girls were so excited to be there again, after unloading our stuff into our villa, we went for a swim. Last time we went, Baya was only 3 so she couldn’t remember what it was like – she was crazily happy at how fantastic the swimming pool was! And her excitement continued all week long. Waking up on Tuesday morning to ducks, squirrels and a bunny outside our windows was so much fun – especially as one little squirrel was very friendly and kept coming right inside!
We’d booked a few activities in for the girls this time, Pony Pals for Baya, a cupcake decorating class for Lola and an Aerial Adventure for Kiki [alongside Papa]. They loved the activities, coupled with swimming a couple of times a day, playing in the parks and on the ‘beach’ and running around in the woodland behind our villa we had a fantastic week.
Baya made friends with a cygnet, who came to visit us every morning for his breakfast, alongside his three siblings and Mum and Dad! The girls thought it was funny to have a whole family of swans to feed.
We lucked out and the weather stayed lovely, there was a little rain the first evening after we’d gotten ready for bed, but the rest of the week was warm and sunny. I think we all enjoyed a week’s break, so much so that no-one wanted to come home on Friday! Baya cried most of the way home as she didn’t want to leave her cygnet friend behind. To beat our post-holiday blues, we booked another trip as soon as we got home. We’re heading up to the Whinfell Center Parcs next March – the thought of that holiday will keep me going through the winter, and these sleepless nights I have ahead of me with a newborn!!

October 8, 2014 at 11:35Sorry it had such a bad start but great news you had a brilliant time in the end! We’ve never been to Centre Parcs but they look really good once you have children. I always thought when we were growing up that the whole thing was under a giant plastic dome, not just the swimming pool – oh dear xx
