Maternity Series – Week 16

maternity series week 16

Sixteen weeks today! I’m feeling much better now that first trimester is long behind me. Still tired, but not quite so ridiculously so. It feels so good not having to hide my bump… having kept this quite for a couple of months it’s nice to be able to flaunt it ;) And to be honest I couldn’t hide this bump much longer! A few people said they wondered, but it’s not the sort of thing you can ask someone at this stage of pregnancy!

Now that my energy has come back, I’ve started tackling some of the jobs that I need/want to get done before this baby comes. I’ve cleared out the little room off our bedroom that will be baby’s space. Baya slept there for the first year or so of her life, but the past three years it’s been used as a general dumping ground.

dear baby... week sixteen

A lovely friend sent me a box of cloth nappies at the weekend – the girls didn’t seem to get why Mama was quite so excited about a box full of nappies.

We’ve had so many people ask if we’re hoping for a boy this time around. Honestly, I couldn’t care either way. Sure, a boy would be nice, but so would another girl. I love girls! We will be finding out though in around 4 weeks time. Lola so far has stated that if it is a boy she’s not changing any nappies ;)

I’m impatient this time around, I just want that little bundle in my arms. I can’t wait to hear it’s heartbeat again next week or see it wriggling around on the scan. I’m still craving pineapple – same as my last three pregnancies. And lots of fruit and juice. I’ve been taking Spatone again this time around, it’s a great way to keep iron levels up especially through pregnancy.
