Summer Bucket List

summer bucket list

Meant to share this last week, tbh this pregnancy has me so tired, I’d rather sleep than do anything! So finally – here is our summer bucket list! The girls and I made it on the summer solstice, painted in the sun and then we listed all our ideas while we were sat around the fire eating smores’.

I think it’s safe to say summer is my favourite time of year, we already have lots of plans penciled in. We’ll be looking forward to ticking things off this list as the summer goes along. Here are all the ideas the girls came up with {minus Baya’s request to walk along a rainbow ;)}:

  • Visit a waterfall
  • Make marshmallows
  • CAMP BESTIVAL!
  • Rock Pooling
  • Swim in the river
  • Make lemonade
  • Visit the beach
  • Fly a kite
  • Make nature art
  • eat toasted marshmallows
  • go on a scavenger hunt
  • have a pamper night
  • make ice-cream
  • Visit cousins in kent
  • Go fossil hunting
  • pick-our-own strawberries
  • build fairy houses
  • holiday in Center Parcs
  • send a message in a bottle
  • go horse-riding
  • make bunting for the garden
  • listen to bands in the park
  • make pet rocks
  • go to the skate park

Please tell me what a rock pet is? Is it like a miniature Slash or Lemmy? If so, I need one! ps – love your list.

how funny, we sat down and did the same thing (although I must confess ours doesn’t look anywhere near as pretty as yours!) Lots of the same things as on your list too – great minds think alike hey ?

Hope you are feeling OK – remember to take it easy whenever you can – I know with Amelia I felt like I could sleep anywhere, anytime, any place and it was all I wanted to do for the first and last trimesters – fortunately I got a burst of energy in the middle bit! I developed the strategy of a mid afternoon nanna nap, and if anyone asked what I’d be doing I’d respond with “Growing baby some fingernails/toes/ears” – whatever stage of development we were up to. :) Take care lovely.

PS Gorgeous looking bump you’ve got going on – between you and Bec you are making me feel very broody – until I remember I’d never manage to pull off the glowing pregnancy look as well as either of you. xxx

You have some great things on your list. You are far more organised than I am. I must get my thinking cap on for the lovely things we want to experience during the summer hols. We are starting a little early with the Dare 2 B cycling festival at Harewoood House in Leeds this weekend for the Grand Depart of the Tour de France. I can’t wait and neither can my two little ones!

These are all great ideas. Some of them, like swimming in a river, I’v enever done. I’ve seen a small waterfall but it wasn’t a real waterfall.

sounds like you have a great summer planned. We went to Camp Bestival once pre-kids and one day I will take Pip back. (need more spare funds. festivals are so expensive aren’t they!)

I’m growing brtuetnut squash and can’t wait to pick them. The great thing is the squash last a long time even after you pick them. might pick up a blue hubbard squash at a local farm soon.
