Beach!! Monday we drove across to Anglesey to meet up with friends who were holidaying there. We arrived just before lunchtime, my girlies were VERY excited to see their friends! After ice-lollies, a play in the garden, then a delicious lunch {and cake} we took five kiddos to the beach. We hit the jackpot with weather – it was absolutely perfect. The sky was turquoise, the water shimmering and the sun was shining down on us. We spent the afternoon on the beach, playing in the rock pools, splashing in the sea, collecting stones and seashells. Baya curled up on my knee, snuggled under a towel and had a sleep on the beach.

I don’t think there is very much that can beat a day on the beach, the freedom to run around and just have fun. There’s a lot to be said for being far away from ‘real life’ no computers, no internet, no tv’s. Just nature. I think we could all have happily packed up and moved their. I’ve always wanted to live by the ocean, it’s such a magical place and so peaceful. Though I’m not sure I’d ever get any work done if I did live there!

We walked back to their holiday cottage for dinner {and more cake} before spending the rest of the evening on the beach again. We finally left them {to lots of ‘I don’t want to go homes!} about half past nine, by the time we pulled into our road it was almost midnight, Baya had slept most of the way home and the rest of us were practically asleep on our feet!

First beach trip of the year – we all want to go back very very soon!

This looks idyllic – it really was a turquoise sky and your beautiful photos really capture the day. I know it’s a cliche but every time we take our kiddos to the beach we always end up saying why can’t we live by the sea?

What stunning shots! I’ve never been to Angelsey – although I grew up in south Wales, Dolgellau is the furthest north I’ve ventured. Your pictures do make it look tempting!

What lovely photos. It makes me long to go to the beach…but of course it’s raining now! Definitely will think of Anglesey next time the sun shines though!

I would love to live by the sea, I’m sure I was a mermaid in a former life!

What absolutely stunning photos! I particularly like the one of your little girl with the fishing net. As I get older, I’m more and more in favour of a beach with pebbles too ;)

Lovely pics and all that blue sky! We’ve had a trip to Anglesey pencilled in for over a year now to see in the in-laws but somehow never quite make it. I think this post has made me think again! x

I feel a trip to Anglesey will be scheduled for this summer. It’s not that far for us at all and I have not been for many years. Your pictures are beautiful and really capture the beach atmosphere.

I can’t wait til we get to the beach. We plan on going often in the summer holidays seeing as we’re not going on a proper holiday this year. Lots of day trips with fish and chips and fresh prawns are on the cards for us :)

We went to Penzance a couple of weeks ago and it finally felt like summer, being on the beach. I love how excited children are to be with their friends. Makes me realise how antisocial I can be sometimes!
