Phew!! Spring came! I think everyone in the UK breathed a sigh of relief this past weekend when the sun came out, the skies were blue and the rain stopped. It was blissful. To be able to go outside and not be drenched/frozen. To have the doors and windows open and my house full of fresh air. The kiddos were SO excited… they were outside as soon as they were out of their beds, bouncing on the trampoline, swinging, sliding, playing with the guinea pigs.
For the first time in months, I felt alive. What a difference sunshine makes hey! I felt energised and full of plans. I spent most of Sunday out gardening. Clearing the debris from the winter, re-seeding the lawn, clearing, tidying, digging over veggie patches. The chickens were very happy to… me gardening and moving things mean they get lots of bugs, slugs and worms to eat!!
I am so ready for Spring and Summer. Life feels so much easier when we can get outdoors – after a winter shut up inside, we’ve all got a touch of cabin fever, tempers were short and we’d had enough. Here’s to many more days outside.
