24 hours in Bristol
After last years trip to Bristol, I’ve been dying to get back for another visit. It’s such an amazing city, vibrant and full of life {especially compared to where we live!}. I finally got the chance last week to go back, Beastie and I popped across for a Nomads event {more on that soon!}. It was an all-to-brief not quite 24 hours in the city, but we had a good time!
He was incredibly well behaved on the train, even without his sisters to entertain him {several people commented to me at how good he was}. We made it to Bristol around 2pm on Thursday, and took a walk back to the city centre {thankfully I remembered my way from last year}. We headed straight to the MShed as I knew there was a little play area where he could play. After a 3 hours on the train, he was the happiest baby ever to be able to crawl around and find a bucket of Duplo to play with!
After we’d had a play {and a coffee for Mama]}, we walked across the Sh
rek Bridge {my girlies loved that last time!} and up Brook Street for a little wander. Then we headed to Prezzo to grab some food – Beastie enjoyed the lasagne we shared almost as much as me I think!
By that point it was time to head to Hart’s Bakery for the Nomads event, then the lovely Eleanor had very kindly given us a bed for the night, so we headed home with her. Beastie played and we had a scrummy pizza for supper.
After a good nights sleep {well… as good as 4 wake-ups can be}, we headed out with Eleanor and her little one to walk the dog in Victoria Park. It was a gorgeous park, beautiful views and full of gorgeous autumn-y colours. The best bit was the cafe where we grabbed a hot chocolate and a bacon butty!
Then it was time to head back to the train station and come home…. Beastie was shattered and slept on the way back {giving me a nice little rest} and was a very happy boy to find his sisters waiting on the platform when we got back to Wrexham.
Bristol it was fab – let’s do it again soon.
