A Winter’s Stroll
Saturday was full of kiddos groups and housework as usual, and Papa had to work. Sunday was one of those beautiful clear, crisp winters days. We took advantage of it, packed a picnic lunch and set of for a walk. We headed to Erddig our usual haunt, the kiddos love climbing the hills, playing Pooh sticks in the river and feeding the ducks. We treated ourselves to a hot chocolate {complete with cream and marshmallows!!} in the cafe before starting the walk home. Four hours and several miles later, we made it home cold and muddy!
Miss Baya managed to walk the whole way, out of all three, she’s the one who has never been a walker. The other two would walk long distances from being toddlers… Baya once told a shop assistant when she was two, that she “can’t do walking, as my legs are broken” ha!! Since New Year we’ve been working on getting her walking places rather that having a carry or using the buggy. So far so good… I’m hoping that it will encourage her to sleep through, rather than coming and bothering me in the middle of the night! I can always hope.
The kiddos and Papa actually went back to Erddig yesterday for another walk, giving me an afternoon to work! I have a whole load of new stock for the shop made, just need to photograph it all and get it listed! Hopefully this week…. How is your week going?

January 22, 2014 at 13:41Beautiful pics. Looks like a great way to spend a day. Hope you get success with the walking. I’ve temporarily given up with Talitha as if I’m stuck out and she won’t walk then I’m really stuck since I can’t carry her without my pelvic girdle cussing me.

January 23, 2014 at 11:00The main reason I’ve not pushed it much till now, is that if her Papa isn’t with us and she refuses to walk I really can’t carry her far… I have sciatica and carrying her too much makes it worse.

January 22, 2014 at 14:21That looks like a lovely place for a walk! We are still buried under snow here, and the temperatures have dropped back to the single digits this week, so it’s indoors for us. But we do love walks, especially in the woods. This week has been filled with playtime, art, and blog work for me!
