What a difference a rug makes!
Living in a rented house, changing carpets isn’t an option. The carpet in our living/dining room has certainly seen better days! Also, the living room end doesn’t have much natural light, with the dark coloured carpet that we have, it can seem quite gloomy. I’ve been searching for a new rug for ages – wanting something that would brighten the room up and also hide the carpet. Internet shopping is where it is at for me, dragging three kiddos round the shops is never too much fun, so I headed on over to Argos – always my first stop for goods for my house. Argos have a large range of rugs available on their website. I spent a long time looking thought them all, I knew that I wanted a blue/green colour and I finally settled on this one.
The kiddos were crazily excited when it arrived, there were lots of ‘ooohs’ and ‘ahs’ – I think they were happy with my choice! The rug itself is gorgeous, thick and soft under my feet and oh so pretty. I’m really impressed with he quality, the last rug we had was just a cheap one I picked up to tie us over, so the difference is really noticeable. It’s amazing what a difference a new rug can make to a room. A quick and easy way to update a room, this rug has made a huge difference.
Now, if only I could carpet the entire house in rugs! What are your best tips for refreshing a rented property?

January 22, 2014 at 00:18That is a beautiful carpet! Love the pattern. We are thinking of doing an area carpet over our living room carpet since it is beige and very stained! And we too rent, so ripping it out and replacing isn’t an option. Gorgeous choice you made!

January 23, 2014 at 11:00My bedroom’s the same – sunny and warm and lovely! The living room is ok at night when the fire’s on and you want to cosy up, but in the day it doesn’t get much natural light and feels like such a gloomy place to sit.
