Just realised that I hadn’t shared these photos from our trip to Liverpool this week. It was a last minute idea, sat eating pancakes on Tuesday morning, we were talking about what we should do that day. Tuesdays are about our only ‘free day’ – no kiddo groups, papa often doesn’t work, so we can go out and about all together. We’ve been talking about a trip to Liverpool for the past few weeks, we haven’t been for ages and the kiddos were eager to go to the museums. SO, we threw our things together and hopped on a train. We headed to the Walker Art Gallery first, Lola and Papa took a walk to look at the art, the littlies and I went in the Big Art room – specially designed for little kids, it’s full of things to make, do, touch, play with and dress up in.

After the Walker, we headed down the road to the World Museum. After stopping in the picnic room first for lunch, we worked our way around the museum. The girls were especially keen to see the dinosaurs and the Ancient Egyptians. The best part though, was the temporary exhibition – all about Magic Worlds and Fairytales. We didn’t know that it was there, but it was so good! There was the gingerbread house from Hansel and Gretel, the Mad Hatters Tea party {see the above photo of the kiddos dressed up!}, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings… plus a big section of optical illusions/magic tricks. Such a great surprise!

After, we took a walk through the shopping areas, visited the Lego shop {and made Lego mini men} and then walked back to the train after dark so we could see all the Christmas lights lit up. It was a great day out :)
