DIY: Leaf Love Art

leaf love art

Come the autumn, when the leaves start changing colour and falling, we end up with piles of beautiful leaves that the kiddos have collected. We’re always looking for different ideas for things to do with them, and when we realised we had some gorgeous coloured heart shaped leaves, we came up with this easy art idea. We thought it would make a great gift, to a friend, a grandparent.. anyone that is special to you.

Easy enough for any age kiddo to do by themselves {perhaps with a little help for the writing} thrift a pretty frame, and it looks fantastic! Handmade gifts, especially ones made by the children, are always a hit for grandparents come the holidays.

Suki wrote a fantastic post on ‘The Careful Christmas‘ I plan on joining in, making as many of the gifts as I can. Are you makingplans for a careful Christmas? If you share them Instagram or Twitter, tag them #carefulchristmas so we can see!

I love the idea of a careful Christmas. Last year I handmade all the gifts we gave, and also collected items from the thrift store. It turned out to be such a great experience, and everyone seemed touched by their gift. I’m already planning this year’s handmade items! :)
